Kristina zur Mühlen: "What future do you want to live in? - Food for thought on our changing world"

Imagine you live in the future... You have grandchildren and you have to tell them about the past... You think about it for a while. Then you remember your old record collection, the cassettes, your CDs and DVDs. You remember how you used to wait in front of the telephone box as a child, how you used to write letters and read real books. You remember buying color films and maps for your vacation. That you paid with cash that you withdrew from an ATM beforehand. That you had to open the front door with a key and turn the light on and off with a switch. Also that you avoided cleaning the windows, vacuuming and mowing the lawn, because there were no household robots back then. You pause... How will we be living in 20, 30 or 50 years' time? What will your grandchildren tell their grandchildren...?

Kristina zur Mühlen encourages the audience to see change as an opportunity with her thought-provoking ideas. One of her main topics at the moment is digital change. Old structures are dissolving at an unprecedented pace: things that were thought to be safe are suddenly being washed away - and that scares many people. However, a look back shows that the new has always displaced the old. And the new has also found it difficult to assert itself against the established.

Kristina zur Mühlen builds bridges to the present in an entertaining and pointed way. No one can say for sure today which innovations will prevail in the future - and which will not. Only one thing is certain: there have always been changes - and it is up to us to actively shape the future...
